BUSD Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week!

National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6th - May 10th, 2024, is an annual celebration to honor and give thanks to educators nationwide. In BUSD, we are especially thankful for the amazing teachers in our District. All year through and especially this week, please join us in sharing appreciation and gratitude for the positive impact our BUSD teachers make each and every day for our students inside and outside of the classroom.

In 1982, the State of California Legislature established "National Teacher Appreciation Week."  Since that time, the Bassett Unified School District has also formally and publicly recognized the substantial contribution teachers make to their students, the community, and society as a whole.  In keeping with legislative intent and past practice, it is appropriate that the Board of Education continue to recognize its teachers publicly.  California Education Code Section 37222 designates a week each May as "National Teacher Appreciation Week" as a means of expressing appreciation to the state's teachers, instructors, professors, and other educators.

At the April 23, 2024 board meeting, the Board of Education adopted Resolution #027-24 proclaiming May 7, 2024, as "Day of the Teacher".

Please join us in celebrating our BUSD teachers this National Teacher Appreciation Week!
